He is married to Payal Kotecha, and resides in Mulund, Mumbai.

Career

Kotecha started his political career 34 years ago with the BJP and is currently the treasurer of the party’s Maharashtra unit.

In the 2014 assembly elections, he lost from Wadala by a small margin. He has also previously served as the Vice President of BJP Mumbai and Youth Wing President before that.

Manifesto

One of Kotecha's primary initiatives involves the establishment of a Mulund Terminus. Recognising the significant number of people from the Konkan region who reside in his constituency, many of whom travel back and forth multiple times each year, this terminus will serve as a vital transportation hub. If this terminus becomes reality, it will help over 15 lakh residents of Mulund, Bhandup and Vikhroli.

Kotecha wants to shut down the dumping grounds located at Kanjurmarg and Deonar because they affect people staying in the neighboring areas. He plans to take the dumping ground far away from Mumbai and treat the waste, which will help improve the environment.

He also intends to create a good tourism zone in his constituency by building a park to spot migrant birds and also an observation deck on the top of the hill near the Cypress area in Mulund.

He believes the Eastern Freeway should be extended to Thane with exits in Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund and another exit connecting the Airoli bridge. He will work towards that because it will help in decongesting the Airoli/Eastern Express Highway junction.
