Early & Personal Life

Gajanan Kirtikar is the son of Chandrakant and Ratnaprabha Kirtikar. He is married to Meghana Kirtikar they have one son Amol Kirtikar and two daughters. Gajanan Kirtikar is the organizer of the International Body Building Championship, Mumbai. 

 

Career

Gajanan Kirtikar is a Shiv Sena leader and a two time Member of Parliament from the Mumbai North West Lok sabha constituency in Mumbai. He was elected to the 16th Lok Shabha, in the 2014 general elections, after defeating Gurudas Kamat of the Congress by a margin of 1,83,028 votes and won in 2019 against Sanjay Nirupam.

Gajanan Kirtikar started the Sthaniya Lokadikar Samiti to help local residents get jobs. He was instrumental in the construction of the SRPF Ground in Jogeshwari in Mumbai. His efforts in trying to promote Kabaddi in India, by trying to commercialise it, have been lauded.

Gajanan Kirtikar has been the ex-district incharge of the Employees Provident Fund Union, Maharashtra & Goa State. He was also the incharge of the Shiv Sena Party in Pune District, Jalna, Gadchiroli, Gondiya, Bhandara, Pune, Nagpur and Solapur Districts, all in Maharashtra State, at different stages of his career.

Gajanan Kirtikar has repeatedly emphasised the need for smart development of slum inhabited areas and stressed upon the need for more playgrounds in Mumbai City. He has also spoken about issues faced by semi-skilled workers in the Post and Telegraphs department, and problems faced by the fishing communites in his constitunecy and those of onion growers in Maharasthra.
