Amin Patel has held posts such as; General Secretary of the Youth Congress- South Central District, Member of the All India Congress Committee, Chief Whip of the Maharashtra Congress and has been a member of the State Advisory Committee (Security Guard Board) in the Maharashtra government.

Amin Patel has worked to reform the welfate system in his constituency by bringing an upgrade to educational facilities, creating and developing opportunities to empower women and the youth through job training programmes, anti-drug abuse campaings, and community service programmes.
