While driving towards CST he saw a young man struggling with an older woman after which he grabbed her chain and began running. Dagdu Sakpal valiantly sped ahead and caught the man by his collar and handed him to the police after.

In 2019, Dagdu Sakpal was made the Samanyavak or coordinator of the the Marathwada reigon of Maharashtra of the Shiv Sena.

Controversy

In the run up to Shah Rukh Khan’s controversial movie ‘My Name is Khan’ Mr. Sakpal was detained for vandalizing theatres. He was however released on bail on the same day.

Residents of Noor Manzil building in Byculla complained against Mr. Sakpal as water tankers belonging to his restaurant which is under the building blocked three-fourth of the safety passage of the building.
