Controversy
During his tenure as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Sanjay Dina Patil's constituents alleged that he did not spend any time in his constituency and only spent 70% of his MPLADS funds. Mr. Sanjay Dina Patil defended himself by saying that due to being an MP he had to spend time in Delhi when the parliament was in session and that he had spent 100% of his MPLADS funds. It was proven later though that Sanjay Dina Patil had spent 100% of the funds and hence the accusations did not stand tall.
Sanjay Dina Patil has been accused of pointing his licensed revolver at a group of NCP party workers during a rally. He claims it was self-defense as the workers being supporters of his rival Nawab Malik were trying to attack him and his bodyguard with swords.
Sanjay Dina Patil was allegedly threatened by the infamous gangster, Chota Rajan in early 2015. A complaint was registered at the Bhandup Police Station regarding the same.
In 2013 Sanjay Dina Patil's nephews Kaushik and Pratik Patil allegedly beat up a Mulund businessman Brij Navin who owns a transport business. It is also reported that the police refused to register a complaint when approached and when the complaint was finally taken, it was taken under moderate sections of the IPC. After the businessman came forward, another individual called Motu Singh claimed that the duo also attacked him with a blade but the police still booked them under more moderate sections of the IPC.
